Grâce à un partenariat avec l’école de design Gut Rosenberg, 19 alternants des Compagnons du Devoir ont réalisé une semaine de formation en Allemagne du 27 février au 4 mars 2023 à Aix-la-Chapelle.
Maroquiniers, cordonniers, selliers et tapissiers ont pu découvrir et approfondir le design appliqué aux métiers artisanaux grâce à ce stage intégré à leur parcours de formation.
Cette mobilité internationale les a amenés à adopter une nouvelle façon de penser grâce à une approche pédagogique différente. Plusieurs matières ont été travaillées sous les conseils avisés d’un designer.
Le groupe a également réalisé différentes activités aux côtés des élèves allemands, créant ainsi des échanges interculturels riches.
A la suite de l’échange, 20 élèves allemands de cette école sont venus en région parisienne du 6 au 11 mars 2023 pour découvrir l’association des Compagnons du Devoir et ses spécificités, dans la maison des Compagnons de Pantin et celle de Paris. Parmi un programme chargé, le groupe s’est initié au cuir dans les ateliers de Pantin et a fait une visite de la fondation Coubertin.
Les jeunes français et allemands ont présenté différents projets réalisés pendant leurs formations respectives lors de soirées d’échanges et moment conviviaux.
Grâce au soutien financier de l’OFAJ (Office Franco-Allemand pour la jeunesse), cet échange avec l’école de design Gut Rosenberg, dont c’est la 14e édition, se renforce en permettant chaque année aux jeunes allemands et français de se rencontrer et d’apprendre les uns des autres.
Franco-German exchange programme for leather and upholstery trades
As part of our exchange programme with our partner the Gut Rosenberg School of Design, 19 of our young people spent a week of training in Germany.
The 14th edition of this exchange took place from 27th February to 4th of March 2023 in Aachen. Our young leatherworkers, shoemakers, saddlers and upholsterers were able to discover and reinforce their skills on design applied to the arts and crafts. This short course is directly included in their training programme.
This international mobility allowed them to develop a new way of thinking thanks to a different pedagogical approach. Different materials were explored and utilized thanks to guidance of a designer.
The group was also able to undertake different activities alongside the German students, creating a rich intercultural exchange.
Following the exchange, 20 young Germans from this school came to Paris from March 6th to 11th, 2023. They were able to discover our association and its specificities at the Compagnon’s houses in Pantin and Paris. At the heart of a busy program, the group enjoyed a leather materials initiation session in the workshops and a visit to the Coubertin foundation.
In the evenings the young people were able to present and share informally different projects realized in their respective curricula.
Thanks to the financial support of the OFAJ (Office Franco-Allemand pour la Jeunesse), this exchange with the Gut Rosenberg School of Design continues to grow, allowing young Germans and French to meet and learn from each other every year.
